Video Archives | Farmacaffley 2004

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2004 season.

The Tynan and Armagh Hunt point-to-point fixture at Farmacaffley is the next meeting to be added from 2004.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

Bobby McNally was on the scoresheet early when winning the opening confined hunt race at Farmacaffley aboard Kilmore Lad.

Knowhere and JD Moore took division one of the five and six-year-old geldings maiden for owner and trainer Ian Buchanan. Knowhere went on to have a very successful career under rules for trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies where he won seven races including two Grade 2 victories at Aintree and Cheltenham.

Division two of the five and six-year-old geldings maiden saw Ballyhale come  home in front in the hands of Derek O’Connor carrying the familiar colours of Wilson Dennison.

It was the veteran Bluefire who prevailed to land the open lightweight under regular pilot Tommy Peoples for Enniskillen College.

Brian Hamilton registered a double on the day when winning both divisions of the five, six and seven-year-old mares maiden.

His first winner of the afternoon came courtesy of Shortie who ran out an impressive 15-length victory over Golden Fantasy.

Dontnock’er supplied Hamilton with his second winner of the afternoon when winning division two of the five, six and seven-year-old mares maiden.

It was also a successful afternoon for Donabate native Jim Keeling who recorded a double.

Jim Keeling registered his first winner of the day when landing the winners of two contest aboard Leading Gossip in the colours of his father and former point-to-point rider Ivon Keeling.

Arais Araish supplied Keeling with his second winner of the afternoon when winning division one of the seven and eight-year-old geldings maiden.

The concluding race on the day, the seven and eight-year-old geldings maiden was won by Telmenow and Saul McHugh.
