Brian Dunleavy brought up a two-timer by combining with Caroline McCaldin to land this eight-runner race aboard Salvadorhill, who pulled up on his only previous start at Tattersalls back in April. The admirable 11-year-old Lifetime Ambition brought up a two-timer for handler Jack Doyle by making virtually all the running and giving an exhibition of fencing at the head of affairs to beat fellow veteran Dreal Deal by a neck in another terrific finish. Ran at a ferocious gallop in the conditions, Weespoof and Fortune Lad went head to head from the drop of the flag.
