The newcomer Golden Current continued the excellent run of handler Jonathan Fogarty in this truly run contest by leading from before three out for Barry Stone and the British bred son of Golden Horn then stormed clear to defeat fellow debutant Clondaw Buster by 12 lengths with a similar margin back to the third placed Jackson Court.

Handler Winters disclosed the homebred Handmedownastar, owned by his daughter Laurie, could now contest another point en route to a possible tilt at a bumper.
