Video Archives | Tinahely 2004

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2004 season.

The Shillelagh & Districts point-to-point fixture at Tinahely is the first meeting to be added from 2004.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening race at Tinahely, the open lightweight was won by Champagne Native in the hands of Alan Cash, formerly trained by Tom Taaffe.

Division one of the five and six-year-old geldings maiden saw Louisburgh and Ross O’Sullivan come home in front for a comfortable victory over Lord’tipple.  Their victory was made all the easier with Park West falling at the last whilst in second.

Division two of the five and six-year-old geldings maiden was won in good style by The Royal Dub in the hands of Nina Carberry.

Rheban Lass ran out an impressive winner of the opening division of the five and six-year-old mares maiden with Shane Butler in the saddle.

Snip Well
and J J Dullea came home alone in division two of the five and six-year-old mares maiden.

Mick Darcy was in the winners enclosure when landing the winners of one contest aboard Eurocelt.

James O’Farrell took the opening division of the seven and eight-year-old geldings maiden aboard Litron in the colours of his father Seamus O’Farrell.

It was a successful afternoon for Colin Motherway who recorded a double when winning the final two races on the card.

Motherways first winner of the afternoon came courtesy of Bewleys Hotel who ran out an impressive winner of division two of the seven and eight-year-old geldings maiden.

Paddyeoin supplied Colin Motherway with his second winner of the afternoon when winning the concluding seven and eight-year-old mares maiden.
