Online entry open for the new season

Online entries are now open for the opening weekend of the 2026/27 Irish point-to-point season, which gets underway with fixtures at Toomebridge and Castletown-Geoghegan.

The Mid Antrim meeting at Toomebridge will raise the curtain on the new campaign on Saturday, October 3, before the action moves to County Westmeath for the Castletown-Geoghegan fixture 24 hours later.

Both meetings are scheduled to begin at 1pm.

Four-year-old mares will get the new season underway at Toomebridge, where the programme also includes a separate maiden for four-year-old geldings.

The six races at Toomebridge are:

4yo Mares Maiden
4yo Geldings Maiden
5yo Geldings Maiden
Winner of One
5yo and upwards Mares Maiden
6yo and upwards Geldings Maiden

The Westmeath Foxhounds will host the opening Sunday fixture of the season at Castletown-Geoghegan, with a four-year-old maiden beginning proceedings.

A winner of two contest and an open lightweight race for novice riders are also included on the card.

The six races at Castletown-Geoghegan are:

4yo Maiden
5yo and 6yo Mares Maiden
Winner of Two
5yo and 6yo Geldings Maiden
Open Lightweight Race for Novice Riders
6yo and upwards Maiden
