Exciting initial entries have been selected for the Tattersalls Cheltenham February Sale which will take place on Friday, 20 February at Cheltenham Racecourse.
The sale is an established and proven source of National Hunt talent, as highlighted by last year’s Grade 1 Arkle Novice Chase winner, Gold Cup hopeful and February graduate Jango Baie, and it sees the new generation of four-year-olds hit the sale ring.

Initial entries selected from last weekend’s racing include Catchem Black. He is a four-year-old son of Affinisea and was the impressive 16-length winner on debut of the four-year-old maiden at Comea for handler Garrett Murphy, who produced Affordale Fury, winner of the Grade 1 Savills Chase and by the same sire.
Colin Bowe’s Milestone Stables, who sold star performer Envoi Allen at the Cheltenham February Sale, will offer the impressive Ballinaboola winner Galatrona. The five-year-old daughter of Harzand was most impressive in opening her account when scoring by 7l under Barry O’Neill. The immediate relation to Kalashnikov and Kicking King looks sure to attract a lot of attention.
Monbeg Stables’ Cormac Doyle has two four-year-olds catalogued in the initial entries – Freetobe and Magical Major, who both showed significant promise on their debuts. Freetobe, by the late Jukebox Jury and out of a Presenting mare, was second in the competitive four-year-old maiden at Ballinaboola and is from the family of Ericht and Native Scout.
Magical Major, who is by Soldier Of Fortune and from the family of Invictor, was runner-up at Tallow catching the eye throughout.
Stuart Crawford, a regular at the Tattersalls Cheltenham sales, enjoyed a good weekend between the Flags and his two Kirkistown winners Lisbane and Largy Leader have been added to the initial entries. Crawford’s Newlands Farm will also offer recent Tyrella winner Largy Silver, a five-year-old son of Sholokhov who was a taking winner on debut on the 24th January.
Daniel O'Connell Jnr's Bansha Blue recorded a 17-length victory at Comea in what looked to be a very smart performance. The daughter of Blue Bresil jumped and travelled stylishly and appears to be a classy individual.
The Tattersalls National Hunt team will be at this weekend’s Irish point-to-points at Nenagh and Knockanard.
In the UK, the team will be at this weekend's sole point-to-point at Duncombe Park.
