Hugos New Horse heads June Sale catalogue

Leading trainers Paul Nicholls and Willie Mullins are both looking to sell online again in Tuesday’s ThoroughBid June Sale, which features horses-in-training from both codes, National Hunt stores, unraced two-year-olds and a yearling half-sister to Village Vic by Crystal Ocean.

Following Dino Magic leaving Ditcheat for £14,500 in ThoroughBid’s May Sale, Nicholls has consigned prolific winner Hugos New Horse (Lot 23) and the lightly-raced winning nine-year-old Onethreefivenotout (Lot 15), both owned by The Stewart Family.

Mullins, who has regularly sold horses with racing’s online auction house, has entered Femme Magnifique (Lot 20), a bumper and hurdles winner who finished runner-up on her debut over fences on 31st May at Tramore.

The catalogue also boasts four unnamed three-year-old National Hunt stores and unraced three-year-old Henry Of Wick (Lot 14), whose dam is a half-sister to the dam of mighty stayer Stradivarius, as well as four wildcards, including promising bumper second Rodeo (Lot 29), consigned by last month’s sale £46,000 top lot vendor, Tom George.

James Richardson, CEO of ThoroughBid, said: “Having the likes of Paul Nicholls and Willie Mullins regularly looking to use ThoroughBid is a big vote of confidence for online sales. Both of the horses from Ditcheat have some strong form in the book and should provide their new connections with exciting days at the races, while Willie’s is a good bumper and hurdles winner that looks to have lots of potential going over fences.

“We’re also thrilled to have accepted four wildcards into this month’s sale. Lot 29, Rodeo, looks to be particularly exciting as Tom George consigns another promising bumper second as he did in our May Sale. On that occasion, L’Arme De Bonheur went the way of shrewd northern trainer Nick Alexander. We hope this consignment will be similarly popular.

“We strive to be flexible and accessible to all in the industry, and the mixed nature of this latest catalogue is a good sign of that. Alongside some nice horses-in-training, there are a host of well-bred stores and two-year-olds, as well as a Crystal Ocean yearling. We look forward to the bids flying in from 9am next Tuesday (24th June).”

Bidding begins at 9am on Tuesday 24th June and the full catalogue can be viewed here.
