IHRB Point to Point Stewards Enquiry Island Hunt (F) Point to Point Meeting Saturday 22 March 2025 

The Acting Stewards interviewed Ms T. Quail, rider of Longhouse Star, placed third, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of the Winners Of One. 

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that she had used the whip without allowing or appearing to allow her mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken her previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Ms T. Quail for two Point to Point racedays. 

Tipperary (F) Lisronagh Point to Point Meeting Sunday 23 March 2025 

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr H.C. Swan, rider of Lisbane Park, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 4yo Maiden. 

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(h) in that he had used the whip with his arm being or appearing to be above shoulder height. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr H.C. Swan for one Point to Point raceday. 

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr D. Doyle, rider of Kazansky, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 5yo Geldings Maiden. 

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(a) in that he had used the whip in front of the saddle while the whip was held in the forehand position. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr D. Doyle for one Point to Point raceday. 

United Hunt (F) Ballynoe Point to Point Meeting Sunday 23 March 2025 

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr M.J. O’Connor, rider of Desert Bride, placed third, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 5yo & Upwards Adjacent Maiden. 

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(h) in that he had used the whip with his arm being or appearing to be above shoulder height. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr M.J. O’Connor for one Point to Point raceday. 

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr J.D. Coffey, rider of Wings Of A Swallow, placed first, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 5yo & Upwards Adjacent Maiden.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing or appearing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr J.D. Coffey for one Point to Point raceday. 

The Acting Stewards enquired into the eligibility of Fiddleinthemiddle to take part in this race following a declaration to run in accordance with Regulation 24(ii)(a)(i), as it was brought to their attention that Fiddleinthemiddle was registered with a valid Hunters Certificate from Ballinagore (H). 

Having viewed the official Entry Form for the meeting and conditions of this race, the Acting Stewards were satisfied that the current owner was a subscriber to the United Hunt (F) and consequently they allowed Fiddleinthemiddle to run in this race. 

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr P.J. O’Neill, rider of Nelly O, placed third, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 5yo & Upwards Mares Maiden. 

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing or appearing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr P.J. O’Neill for one Point to Point raceday.
