Meath (F) & Tara (H) Point to Point Meeting Sunday 28th April 2024
The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr D.M. O'Connor, rider of Give Him A Chance, placed third, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 5yo & Upwards Unplaced Maiden.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing his mount at least three strides to respond.
Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr D.M. O'Connor for one Point to Point raceday.
The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr K.P. Healy, rider of Novocaine, placed fourth, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(g) in that he had used the whip with excessive frequency.
Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr K.P. Healy for one Point to Point raceday.
Kilkenny (F) Point to Point Meeting Sunday 28th April 2024
The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr J.P. Connolly, rider of Dreamers Choice, unplaced, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 6yo & Upwards Geldings Maiden.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(h) in that he had used the whip with his arm being or appearing to be above shoulder height.
Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr J.P. Connolly for one Point to Point raceday.
