David Christie and Barry O’Neill continued their domination of Irish Hunter Chases when winning the Earl of Harrington Memorial Hunters Chase with Ultimate Optimist.
The pair who were left in front from six from home, travelled strongly into the straight on kept on well for a 12-length victory over Johngus.
The son of Fame And Glory started his career with leading point-to-point handler Donnchadh Doyle and after winning his six-year-old and upwards maiden at Stowlin, he then joined the Christie team and has since won two winners’ races at Loughanmore and Quakerstown respectively.
The other market principle The Blind Piper was well beaten when falling at the second last.
