Son of Milan gains deserved Black Type

Brewin’upastorm gained deserved Black Type when landing the Loch Lomond Whiskies National Spirit Grade 2 at Fontwell on Sunday.

The Olly Murphy handled gelding was given a patient ride by rider Aidan Coleman who settled him in rear before mounting his challenge approaching the third last flight.  The pair took up the running before the second last and kept on gamely for a five and a half length victory over McFabulous.

The son of Milan has now won six races under rules for his owner Barbara Hester, connections indicated he will now be aimed for the Aintree Festival.

Brewin’upastorm first advertised his talents in a Quakerstown point-to-point, where he scored impressively for Timmy Hyde and subsequently sold for £250,000.

Milan’s progeny have had plenty of success over the years in Irish Point-to-Point’s, he currently lies fourth on this seasons leaderboard.

His winners this season include the aptly named Promising Milan who won his maiden by an impressive six lengths at Damma House.

Miss Tempo caught the eye of many after she won the four-year-old mares maiden at Boulta for handler Harry Kelly.

Milan’s progeny will feature strongly at this years Cheltenham Festival with the likes Monalee and Santini both holding strong chances.

The son of Sadler’s Well achieved great success as a racehorse with two Group victories including the Group 1 St Leger Stakes at Doncaster.

His record as a stallion speaks for itself, his top performers include, Jezki, Apache Stronghold, Darlan, Beat That, Sizing Granite, Monalee, Santini and One For Arthur.

Milan currently stands at Grange Stud, for more information please click here
