Throwback Thursday | Five From Home Part 1

The programme Five From Home is the first to feature in our Throwback Thursday Series.  It is a four- part series which follows four prominent point-to-point families in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

There is some terrific footage and interviews with many familiar faces.

Part 1 of the series features the popular Cecil and Carol Ross who are both sadly deceased. We get a great insight into the life at Sonna in Slanemore.

Presenter Sam McAughtry then travels with the Ross’ to the local point-to-point at Fairyhouse Racecourse.  Leading amateur at the time Tony Martin is aboard the Cecil Ross trained runners.  Keep an eye out for the Grand National winning trainer down at the start!

Part Two will be available on Thursday 11th February which features George Stewart and family.
