IHRB Point to Point Stewards Enquiry North Kilkenny (F) Point to Point Meeting Sunday 15 March 2026 

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr R.M. McParland, rider of Sir Ollie, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of the Open Lightweight. 

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the relevant whip regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing or appearing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr R.M. McParland for one Point to Point raceday. 



The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr M.G. Gahan, rider of Mangan Jacko, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of the 5yo Geldings Maiden

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the relevant whip regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing or appearing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr M.G. Gahan for one Point to Point raceday. 

 

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr H.D. Dunne, rider of Align The Cosmos, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of the 4yo Mares Maiden

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the relevant whip regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing or appearing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr H.D. Dunne for one Point to Point raceday. 

 

Kilworth & Araglen (H) Point to Point Meeting Sunday 15 March 2026 

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr J.G. Murphy, rider of Spare The Voice, placed first, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of the 5yo Geldings Maiden

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the relevant whip regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing or appearing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr J.G. Murphy for one Point to Point raceday.
