On the track, November proved to be a particularly successful month for Irish point-to-point graduates who collectively won no fewer than 211 races, in doing so, becoming the fifth most successful individual month on record.
Those successes included two at the highest level, with a brace of Grade 1 victories topping and tailing the month, kick-started by the incredible Envoi Allen.
Formerly, a four-year-old maiden winner at Ballinaboola for Colin Bowe, since being bought by Cheveley Park Stud for £400,000, the remarkable Muhtathir gelding has gone on to win 17 times under rules, including ten at Grade 1 level.
The latest of them was achieved with a three and three quarter length defeat of fellow point-to-pointer Affordale Fury in the BetVictor Champion Chase at Down Royal on November 1st, his seventh successive appearance at the Down venue’s annual Festival of Racing, and a victory that brought his career earnings north of £1.1 million.
That 11-year-old is now likely to have a mid-winter break before returning in the spring, where he will be bidding to add to his impressive CV of victories.

At the other end of the spectrum, Romeo Coolio hinted at what might be to come for him when he claimed the first Grade 1 novice chase of the season, the Bar 1 Betting Drinmore Novice Chase on November 30th.
His eight-length victory at Fairyhouse was a second at the highest level for the Kayf Tara gelding, who had started his career by winning a Belclare four-year-old maiden for Donnchadh Doyle, as it followed his Future Champions Novice Hurdle success at Leopardstown 11 months earlier.
Now two from two, having dazzled with his faultless performance over fences, Timeform gave him a rating just shy of the aforementioned Envoi Allen, leaving him among the best winning performances from the last decade of the Drinmore.

Below these two Grade 1 victories, there were no fewer than seven Grade 2 prizes in November that were plundered by ex-Irish Pointers, in addition to a trio of Grade 3 races, plus six listed races.
Encouragingly for the future, no fewer than 22 horses who ran in four-year-old maidens in the spring won under rules on the track in November.
That included Ballyfad who won back-to-back bumpers in the month at both Down Royal and Punchestown, following his point victory at Fairyhouse for Luke Murphy.
