12 entries have been received for the KFM Hunters Chase which will take place on Friday 3rd May at the Punchestown Festival. The €15,000 contest will run over 2miles 4furlongs and is for farmers farming land in the Kildare Hunt District.
Peter Maher holds five of the 12 entries here including Alpha Male who found success in this race just 12 months ago when beating Premier King. The eight-year-old has had a somewhat disappointing season thus far coming home without a placing in any of his four starts.
Maher also trains Change Your Story, Enniskillen, Puff Of Smoke and Belocima.
The son of Dubai Destination, Change Your Story, won the Farmers Hunt Race at Punchestown back in February. Enniskillen went off as the odds on favourite in that race when finishing third.
Handy Headon who was fifth of five in the same Farmers Race at Punchestown also holds an entry here for Paddy Quinlin. The Well Chosen gelding showed improvement on his only other start to finish third in the older maiden at Monksgrange last month.
The eight-year-old gelding Boubafly finished fourth just behind Handy Headon at Monksgrange for Tony Martin.
Tipp Away also holds an entry here for Ross O'Sullivan. He should be a fresh horse coming into this contest having had just one run to date this season when finishing second at Tinahely behind Fleck Ivy.
Michael Cleary and Dervla Cogan's A Ton Nom has had just three starts in his racing career. The nine-year-old won last time out at Nenagh in the older geldings' maiden under Luke Murphy.
