Jasmin Des Bordes ran a cracker when second on his debut at Loughanmore behind the exciting The Very Man. The son of Great Pretender was ridden prominently throughout and progressed to take up the lead after the penultimate fence where he was then headed at the final obstacle but ran on gamely to take the runner-up spot. Having ran a creditable race up to that point, this eye-catching runner-up lost little in defeat and is a very likeable youngster with a lot to offer it seems. A half-brother to a three-time track winner in France, the Donnchadh Doyle-trained gelding is from a stellar black type family which includes the 13-time winner Lutin Des Bordes as well as Grade one runner-up Utopie Des Bordes. Jasmin Des Bordes has highlighted himself as a very likeable youngster with a lot to offer it seems.
