Philip Egan

The younger brother of Group 1-winning flat jockey David Egan, Philip's first points ride was aboard Hummus for Ian McCarthy at Castlelands in March 2025 becoming the second member of his family to ride in a point-to-point, after his sister Alexandra had finished third in a Punchestown open a year earlier. The son of Irish National winning trainer Sandra Hughes, and Classic-winning jockey John Egan, David got among the placings in his opening season when Hummus finished third at Oldcastle.
