James Kenny had an ideal schoolmaster to kickstart his career, as he teamed-up with former top open horse Vital Plot for his first nine rides, five of which resulted in placed finishes following a debut at Dowth Hall in October 2015. The son of well-known handler Liam, Kenny recorded his first success at Killeagh in January 2017, with the mare, who is also trained by his father, providing him with a further two winners during the 2017/18 season. An association with Champion Handler Colin Bowe brought a first four-year-old maiden success and ensured he ended the campaign with a double figure tally for the first time.
