Having made his point-to-point debut in Ireland at Largy in May 2014, Kildalton College graduate Shane Roche made the successful move to UK point-to-pointing, riding 30 winners in addition to three under rules. Those successes, primarily for handler David Kemp and David Phelan, led to him being crowned Champion Novice Rider 2016 and Champion Rider in both 2017 & 2018 in the South East Area. Roche returned to Irish Points in the latter part of the 2018/19 campaign, riding for the Doyle brothers.
