Promising Point2Rules bonus eligible pointers among ThoroughBid catalogue

ThoroughBid’s May Sale catalogue includes horses-in-training with UK & Ireland’s most prominent yards as well as exciting younger pointers eligible for the popular Point2Rules bonus.

Champagne Mahler (Lot 29), a dual winner over jumps and full brother to Revels Hill, runner-up in the 2023 bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown, is an eye-catching consignment from Henry de Bromhead, alongside the four-year-old Mehmas filly Irish Ballet (Lot 3), who was placed in a 5f maiden at Naas Racecourse.

De Bromhead has also consigned last-start winner Tangara Bay (Lot 9), fifth behind the classy El Cairos at Thurles in January before scoring at Clonmel when last seen in March, is sure to draw plenty of attention as a six-year-old who’s had just the three starts over obstacles. She’s also a half-sister to French chase winner Urumqi, who was fourth in the Grade 1 Prix Ferdinand Dufaure presented by L'Equipe.

Having sold Hilberry Hill for £70,000 in February, Mags Mullins returns to sell recent Flat winner Masego (Lot 25), while fellow Irish trainer Gordon Elliott has entered Button Rock (Lot 18) and Irina's Path (Lot 7).

Cheltenham Festival Grand Annual winner Maskada was sold out of Stuart Edmunds’ yard via ThoroughBid and the Buckinghamshire-based trainer is represented in this catalogue by Bubble Dubi (Lot 12) and Ilitch (Lot 5), both winners over hurdles.

Emailandy (Lot 17), who achieved a peak rating of 133 and was placed in Grade 3 company in 2024, has been consigned by Paul Nicholls of the back of his point-to-point win at Holnicote two weeks ago.

Perhaps the lot with the biggest upside in the sale is four-year-old Irish pointer Walkwithmyfriend (Lot 15). The Mark Stafford-trained son of Walk In The Park was fourth in a hot Ballyknock maiden on his only start and is eligible for ThoroughBid’s Point2Rules Bonus, which awards £5,000 to new connections should the horse win on its first start Under Rules after being sold.

James Richardson, ThoroughBid CEO, said: “The £5,000 Point2Rules Bonus continues to attract connections of nice horses and we’re pleased to have another two eligible lots in the May Sale catalogue. The sale of pointer Midem de Berce for £77,500 last month continued to show that there’s good money around for these types of horses and we look forward to another busy session of bidding next Friday 29th May.

“There are some very useful horses-in-training in the sale, with the likes of Henry de Bromhead, Gordon Elliott, Paul Nicholls, Stuart Edmunds and Mags Mullins all selling again under our initiative of risk-free consignment, where you only pay an entry fee if your horse sells.”

The auction will be live from 9am on Friday 29th May, with lots finishing at two minute intervals from 12pm.
