Closing date for Down Royal Hunters Chase

Entries for the Down Royal Hunters Chase on Monday 17th March, close on Wednesday 12th March at 12 noon.

Declarations to run must be made by 10am Saturday 15th March.

Winner will receive €6,000 (Penalty Value: €5,900) Second will receive €2,000 Third will receive €1,000 Fourth will receive €500 Fifth will receive €300 Sixth will receive €200 

A steeplechase for † Certified Hunters five years old and upwards that have not won more than one Steeplechase confined to Certified Hunters and that have been placed first, second, third or fourth in a Certified Hunters Steeplechase in Ireland or in a Point-to-Point Steeplechase in Ireland between 25th September, 2021 and 11th March, 2025 


About 2 miles 3 furlongs 140 yards 

€90 to enter, €10 extra if declared to run 
Weights: ..............................................11st 7lbs 
Mares allowed ............................................ 7lbs Penalty - (to count from 1st January, 2022) 
Winner of a steeplechase..................... 7lb extra 

Exclusions - Horses that have won a race under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing other than (a) Farmers Races or (b) Certified Hunters Steeplechases. 

Riders: Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. † A Hunters Certificate valid in accordance with Rule 78 for the 2024/2025 season for each horse engaged must be registered at the Office of the INHSC, The Curragh, Co. Kildare, not later than 11th March, 2025 or the horse is not qualified to start.
