Knockanard and Punchestown both set to go ahead

Saturday’s full programme of fixtures will go ahead after both Punchestown and Knockanard passed early morning inspections.

Both courses were found to be fit for racing when inspected at 7am, and they will form part of a triple-header this afternoon which gets underway at 1pm.

The Knockanard fixture was rescheduled from last Sunday and features the third edition of the popular Cross Country race at the Cork venue as the highlight of the day. That race is set to get underway at 2.30pm.

Elsewhere, Punchestown attracted the biggest entry of Saturday's three fixtures with 138 entries across the six races, whilst the Farmacaffley fixture was the only one of this weekend's six fixtures that has not required a further inspection on the morning of racing, and it could feature Winged Leader appearing in the open on the card for a fourth time.

Inspections have also been announced on Sunday for Tinahely, Kildorrery and Lisronagh.
