Toomebridge winner tops Tattersalls Online October sale

Debut point-to-point winner She Is For Me Boys topped proceedings at the Tattersalls Online October Sale when selling for 42,000 guineas to Tom Malone Bloodstock.

The Baltimore Stables-consigned five-year-old was a comfortable winner of a mares’ maiden at Toomebridge earlier this month, with the form already being boosted after the runner-up subsequently won at Portrush seven days later.

After the sale, Malone said of the mare: “I’ve seen her plenty in James Doyle’s yard and I liked her when I saw her in February. I saw her in September again and then she went and won first time out.

“The form was solid and she’s out of a Presenting mare. She jumped for fun and that’s going to be a big asset when she comes to Britain. She has been bought for Jamie Snowden and owners Karen and John Gunn.”

A regular purchaser on the platform, he added: “You can sell an expensive one or a very cheap one online. It’s a very nice way of buying horses when people don’t want to go to the expense of taking them to the sales.”

The Tattersalls Online October Sale realised a turnover of 319,900 guineas for 49 lots sold, at an average price of 6,529 guineas. Over 300 bidders registered for the sale from over 20 countries including America, Belgium, Britain, France, Ireland, India, Italy, Germany, Serbia, Sweden, The Netherlands, Zambia and from throughout the Gulf region.
