Under 21 Title Heats Up As Rogan Registers Kirkistown Double

It’s all to play for in the Under 21’s title, with four riders in contention going into the final day of the 2020-21 point-to-point season at Grennan.

Kirkistown proved to be a very important day for Pearse Rogan as he registered on a double on the card putting him level with current leader Liam Gilligan.

Rogan’s first winner of the afternoon came courtesy of the Donnchadh Doyle handled Galunggung who stormed home in the dying strides to share the spoils with Rathnamucky and Barry O’Neill.

Creadan Grae provided Rogan with his second winner of the afternoon when taking the novice riders Open aboard the Philip McBurney trained Creadan Grae.

Former conditional jockey Liam Gilligan is currently level with Rogan on seven winners following his successful penultimate weekend when registering three winners.

Michael O’Sullivan former champion and Sean Staples are also just one behind with six winners a piece.

The final race at Grennan on Sunday is a novice rider’s race which will see Gilligan and O’Sullivan having to watch from the sidelines as they are not eligible to ride in as they have over 15 winners.

Below are the current standing heading into the final day:

Liam Gilligan = 7

Pearse Rogan = 7

Michael O’Sullivan = 6

Sean Staples = 6
