Video Archives | Tyrella 2004

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2004 season.

The East Down Foxhounds point-to-point fixture at Tyrella is the second meeting to be added from 2004.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening race at Tyrella, the winner of two contest was won in good style by Kevin Ross trained Frankie Dori and Gordon Elliott.

The opening division  the five and six-year-old geldings maiden saw Derek O’Connor at his best when getting up close home to win aboard Sanamour.

O’Connor didn’t have to wait long to register his second winner of the afternoon when winning the second division of the five and six-year-old geldings maiden aboard Ballyfin.

The ever consistent Bellaney Lady added another victory to her tally when winning the open lightweight in the hands of her regular pilot Leo Gracey.

The seven-year-old and upwards mares maiden saw Silver Chanter come home in front in the hands Jim Keeling.

Rosiehaveareef showed admirable qualities when staying on well to claim to five and six-year-old mares in the hands of Aaron Stronge.

The opening division of the seven-year-old and upwards geldings maiden was won on good style by King Of Killeen and Andrew Duff. This was Meath natives first winner between the flags.

It was a memorable day for jockey Aidan Howard who won the concluding race of the day, division two of the seven-year-old and upwards geldings maiden aboard Amakane Leader. The two maidens were part of the ‘my first winner maidens’ for riders who had never ridden a winner, they were sponsored by trainer John Quinn.
