Video Archives | Loughanmore 11th Oct 2003

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2003 season.

The next meeting to be added to the archives is the Mid Antrims Hunt Autumn point-to-point fixture at Loughanmore.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening race at Loughanmore, the four and five-year-old mares maiden provided spectators with a thrilling finish with the judge unable to separate Hillmar and James Smyth and Kiwi Wings and Jackie Kidd.

The four and five-year-old geldings maiden saw an impressive winner in Frankie Dori who came home strongly in the hands of Claire MacMahon.

Lissitzky stayed on well in the closing stages to land the winners of one contest in the hands of William McCarthy for handler Ian Ferguson.

Pious Object responded well to Gordon Elliott’s urgings when staying on strongly from the last to claim the six-year-old and upwards maiden.

The Wipper took the open lightweight in good fashion when running out a comfortable five length winner over Joey Dunlop in the hands of Brian Hassett. The Wipper won a total of 14 races between the flags.

So I’m Told provided Gordon Elliott with his second winner of the afternoon when winning the concluding, six-year-old and upwards geldings maiden.
