On The Fringe takes Listowel Hunters Chase

The Enda Bolger – trained On The Fringe has returned to the winners enclosure at 14 years of age to take the Listowel Supporters Club Hunters Chase for the second year in succession.

The ace hunter chaser, formally successful at all the big festivals will certainly have done his connections proud, winning his 16th race in the colours of J P McManus.

The son of Exit To Nowhere was successful in an open at Rathcannon back in April and teamed up once again here with Aine O’Connor to see off All Hell Let Loose by two and a quarter lengths.

Given a positive ride, On The Fringe justified favouritism to win here and afterwards a delighted Enda Bolger said:

"I was praying this rain wasn't going to come as he loves good ground and I think he's even fitter today than he was at Killarney as he has taken so long to get fit.

"He is 14 but at home he is showing us he is seven. We'll never say never but we'll have a long summer to think about retirement.”
