Witness Box sires his fourth winner of the season

The Tom Keating-trained/owned Who's In The Box recorded a three-length success in the five-year-old geldings' maiden at Barltemy on Sunday in the hands of Liz Lalor.

Fifth on his previous start at Ballynoe, the bay denied Into The Woods by three lengths to give Witness Box his fourth point-to-point winner of the season. 

The sire, who stands at The Old Road Stud, has had plenty of pointing progeny that have gone on to enjoy success under rules including Monbeg Dude, Godsmejudge and Witness In Court.
 
The former won his only start in points for Colin Bowe and Eamonn Doyle at Nenagh back in January 2010 and was subsequently went racing on the track in the UK for Michael Scudamore.
 
The gelding has recorded four successes under rules including three Grade 3 chases and also finished third in the Aintree Grand National in 2015. 
 
Godsmejudge got off the mark at the third time of asking in points having finished second on his first two attempts for Cecil Ross. The gelding was subsequently purchased for £38,000 and has won five-times under rules since including the Grade 3 Scottish Grand National in 2013.
 
Witness In Court recorded success at the second time of asking in points for PJ Colville having placed second on his debut at Belharbour back in 2012.  Following on from this the gelding went to Donald McCain and has won six-times between the rails amassing £70,000 in prize money to date.
