Weekend Preview | Bartlemy

Race 1: Tattersalls Ireland & Coolmore Stud 4yo Mares Maiden

Donnchadh Doyle would look to hold a strong hand in this with Lady Tremaine and FANTASIA ROCQUE both having managed to make it into the placings this season. The latter ran well for a long way behind Emtara at Inch on her debut last month.

Timeless Beauty was just two lengths behind her on that occasion, whilst Gettysburgh also made the frame on her debut at Bellurgan Park.

Race 2: Goffs UK Spring Sale 4yo Geldings Maiden

Of those with previous experience, the Gigginstown House Stud-owned BATTLE OF ACTIUM has now twice had to settle for the second spot, including on his latest outing at Taylorstown, where he was only beaten by just over a length and he looks a solid type.

Of others with the benefit of previous experience, Famous Clermont was fourth at Ballycahane in March, whilst Enemenemynemo also filled that spot when he made his debut at Oldcastle. The newcomers are likely to play a big part in this and the market will give the best reflection of their chances.

Race 3: McCarthy Insurance 5yo Geldings Maiden

MERCURY LANE could be quickly turned out following his debut at Stowlin just last Sunday, when he came out the wrong side of a tight finish with a vastly more experienced rival. Providing this run does not come too soon for him, he is the one to beat.

Lifeisahighway has lacked consistency to date, however if he was able to recapture the form of his second at Borris House in March, he could be a danger, alongside Ballysteen runner-up Big Shark. Monksgrange second Ashtown Lad, and the narrowly denied Dromahane third Shaka The King, are others with real chances in a competitive contest.

Race 4: Anthony & Associates Agri Consultants 5yo Mares Maiden

RACKS CROSS brings a good level of form into this contest having finished placed on each of her three outings to date, including a narrow defeat at Durrow on her penultimate outing and she could be the one to side with here.

Stable companions Frilly Frock, Hello Pilgrim and Princess Cave have all made the frame in the past, whilst Active Currencies and Kind Witness are others that are certainly not without their chances.

Race 5: Liam Walsh & Associates Mares Winner Of One

SEASIDE GIRL only found the subsequent winner Maifitzs Madonna too good when having to settle for second at Durrow in March, and she could regain the winning thread in this. Airgead Suas and Alice OByrne both hold alternative engagements in Necarne, but would be big threats if taking their chance here.

The former gained a long overdue success at Oldcastle over Easter with an emphatic victory against geldings, whilst Alice OByrne won quite easily at Taylorstown and is another with a good deal of experience from this season. Winter Getaway, Shuil Luas and Getawaytonewbay are others that will certainly not be too far away.

Race 6: Glenview Stud & Dennis Barry, Bartlemy 5yo Confined Maiden

KIND WITNESS finished a fine third in similar company at Inch over the Easter period and the return to confined hunt company could well be rewarded here as this would look an ideal opportunity for her.

She'll Be Back was third at Dromahane, whilst Slipping Away could well have finished second at Bandon on her penultimate start but for refusing at the final fence.
