Barry Stone who had originally secured his first Eastern Title at the end of April had a few anxious moments when a replacement fixture at Tattersalls on Sunday 18th May was announced.

Rob James who was only one winner behind Barry Stone going into the day, guided his own Coral Sunset to victory in the colours of Benjamin Hill in the five-year-old & upwards mares maiden which saw him share the lead in the Eastern Title.

Stone opted to share the title with fellow Wexford rider Rob James as he chose to vacate his ride in the final race.

The pair finished on 21 winners a piece.

It was a second Eastern Title for Rob James who shared it last year with Jack Hendrick.

Final Table
Barry Stone - 21 winners
Rob James - 21 winners
Barry O'Neill - 18 winners
Jamie Scallan - 13 winners
Jack Hendrick - 12 winners

Barry and Rob will be presented with their trophy at the 44th annual GAIN point-to-point awards, which takes place at the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny, on Saturday, June 7th. Tickets can be purchased here.
