IHRB Point to Point Stewards Enquiry North Down (F) Point to Point Meeting Saturday 8th February 2025
The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr N.McParlan, rider of Ballyphilip, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the Open Lightweight.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach
of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing his mount at least three strides to respond.
Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr N. McParlan for one Point to Point raceday.

The Acting Stewards interviewed Ms T. Quail, rider of Witheros Hill, placed third, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of the 5yo & Upwards Mares Maiden.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that she had used the whip without allowing her mount at least three strides to respond.
Having taken her previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Ms T. Quail for one Point to Point raceday.
