Strong start for Court Cave

Court Cave who stands at Boardsmill Stud, enjoyed a successful weekend with his progeny winning three races over the weekend.

Annabelle Magic a daughter of Court Cave was first off the mark with an impressive four length victory in the four-year-old mares maiden at Loughanmore for handler Sean Doyle.

The four-year-old auction maiden at Ballycrystal provided a thrilling finish with Desert Cave winning by a short head in the hands of Chris O’Donovan.

Court Cave’s third winner of the afternoon came courtesy of Lisnamult Lad who won the five and six-year-old geldings maiden for Westmeath handler Adrian Murray.

Court Cave who currently stands at Boardsmill Stud is off to a flyer this season with eight runners already this season, five of which have won, with the other three finishing second.

He is currently sitting on top on the leading sires table alongside Kalanisi who also stands at the Trim Stud.

The Boardsmill Stud stalwart is the sire to top class national hunt performers which include, Court Minstrel, Champion Court, Mister Whitaker, City Island, Clondaw Court and Court Made.

His stock have been purchased by leading owners such as Gigginstown House Stud, Kenny Alexander, Highflyer Bloodstock, Willie Mullins and Roger Brookhouse.

Court Caves’ stock at the store sales have also done well having realised up to €120,000 having been purchased by the likes of Colin Bowe, Monbeg Stables, Highflyer Bloodstock and MV Magnier.

His foals have also sold consistently well realising up to €45,000 and purchased by the likes of Rathmore Stud, Redpender Stud, Rathbarry Stud, Mount Eaton Stud, Ian Ferguson, Peter Nolan and Gerry Hogan Bloodstock.
