Tipperary winner Anyharminasking top pointer at Punchestown Sale

Last Saturday’s Tipperary winner Anyharminasking was one of two point-to-pointers to find a new home at Thursday’s Goffs Punchestown Sale, when he realised a price of €145,000.

Bought for €44,000 at last year’s Land Rover Sale by the Monbeg Stables team, Donnchadh Doyle’s four-year-old showed a gutsy attitude on his debut at the Limerick Junction course as he came through to win by a head in a four-year-old geldings’ maiden.

Five days after that introduction he was knocked down to Equos with the son of Getaway the top-priced of the two point-to-pointers to find a buyer, as Great D’Ange who was also a winner on the Tipperary card on Saturday was bought by Gerry Hogan.

Mick Goff’s charge had shown good progression of the course of the season, and having finished third behind Coachman at the same track on April 11th, he returned to that course where he came through to record a six-length success in the hands of Liam Gilligan.

The son of Great Pretender was ultimately sold for €82,000, with the sales being headed by Goffs Land Rover Bumper runner-up Springwell Bay who was sold for €155,000.

Reflecting on today’s sale, Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:

“Nobody is suggesting that today’s backdrop was ideal for a sale and we salute those participants who engaged with the concept.

“Normally we would be selling to a packed winners enclosure at the iconic Punchestown Festival but that was obviously not possible this year.

“That said, our superb Goffs Online platform allowed us to comply with all Government directives and return a satisfactory trade in some instances.

“As things stand, our next sale will be back to near normal in June and we look forward to welcoming vendors, purchasers and hopefully spectators to Kildare Paddocks for what is shaping up to be a superb Land Rover Sale as we are about to publish the best catalogue yet”.
