WATCH: ITM Stallion Showcase - Glenview Stud

The ITM Irish Stallion Showcase 2021 puts the spotlight on some of the top stallion farms in Ireland where champions of the Flat and National Hunt produce the superstars of tomorrow. 

Located in Fermoy, Co. Cork and run by the Cashman Family, Glenview Stud is home to some of the most exciting National Hunt stallions that are currently standing in the country with a list that includes Blue Bresil, sire of the French Champion Hurdle winner, Malinas, Sholokhov sire of Gold Cup winner Don Cossack, Shirocco sire of Champion Hurdle winner Annie Power.

Blue Bresil’s stock have a great record in Irish point-to-points, five winners and eight placed individuals from a limited amount of runners.

His most recent winner was Great Heart’Jac from the Colin Motherway stable, he won the five-year-old geldings maiden at Lisronagh in November.  He was subsequently sold to Fergal O’Brien for £60,000 at the Goffs UK sale.

Malinas has had five runners between the flags so far this season, four of which won and the other finished runner-up.

His most recent winner was Setmestraightmate who impressed at Boulta when running out a 12 length victory of the four-year-old geldings maiden.

The King Of Ryhope was another four-year-old winner he had this season, he was subsequently sold for £70,000 to Ryan Mahon after winning his maiden at Lingstown.

Top stallion Sholokhov is another amongst the roster at Glenview Stud, he has sired many top class individuals over the years including Gold Cup winner Don Cossock. 

His point-to-point progeny have also done remarkably well with the talented Shishkin now favourite for the years Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. 

He won his point-to-point maiden whilst under the care of Virginia Considine. 

Another market principle for this years Cheltenham Festival is recent Grade 1 winner Bob Olinger who is being aimed at the Ballymore Novices Hurdle. 

Shirocco continues his terrific run between the flags with eight winners already on the board this season. 

He is sire to none other than Annie Power, Lac Fontana, Minella Rocco and Queens Brook just to name a few.

Amongst his winners this season is the exciting Rock On Rita who won her maiden well at Dromahane for handler Ian Andrew Power and was subsequently sold to JP McManus. 

Heather Rocco is another exciting prospect he won his maiden at Umma House in good style in November for John Neilan. He has since joined the Henry de Bromhead team and he transferred his talent to the track with an impressive 11-length victory in a maiden hurdle at Limerick over Christmas.

Youmzain who joined the Glenview Stud roster three years ago already has a winner on the board in Says The Boy who won in good style at Borris House for handler Shark Hanlon.
