Eight declared for Gowran Point-to-Point Bumper

Eight horses have been declared for the ‘Docs Bumper’ Point-To-Point Flat Race at Gowran Park on Saturday. The ground at Gowran Park is currently soft, heavy in places and the €10,000 contest is set to be run over 2m2f.

Bob Olinger was a very impressive winner on his debut four-year-old point for Pat Doyle in November 2019 at Turtulla. The son of Sholokhov subsequently changed hands as a result of a private sale. This will be the geldings first run for Henry De Bromhead and Patrick Mullins will take the mount here.

Gordon Elliott is represented in this contest by Coqolino, who won a four-year-old maiden at Ballindenisk in impressive fashion for Eugene O'Sullivan and owner Tomas Singleton, who have combined and have had success previously with the likes of Chris's Dream and Scorpiancer. He has since privately changed hands to JP McManus following that initial Ballindenisk success and Derek O’Connor will be in the saddle here.

A clear-cut winner of a five-year-old mares' maiden at Borris House for Aidan Fitzgerald and Richie Deegan, Katoune Tara looks an exciting recruit for champion trainer, Willie Mullins along with his new owners, the Corner House Syndicate.

Elusive Star
has done well in winners' company since getting off the mark at Loughrea back in October, and he represents the Michael Hourigan team in this contest.

The line-up for the bumper is completed by Creative Venture, Daicheadacuig,  Fort William and Sweet Street.
