Weekend Preview | Lismore 08th March 2020

Race 1 - Tattersalls Ireland 4yo Maiden

SLIEVEGAR finished third to Bring The Action on his debut run at Tinahely in late February. Although there were only three finishers on that occasion, the son of Westerner was only beaten five lengths in a race that was run to a good time.

A repeat of that effort should see the Colin Bowe-trained gelding in the frame on this occasion. His biggest dangers look to be Coolvalla, Ride The Storm and Small Bad Bob.

Race 2 - Pegus Horse Feed (Pegus Qualifier) 5&6yo Geldings Maiden

SUNSET WEST was beaten just a length-and-a-half on his most recent start at Tinahely in February, finishing second to Tucson Train. The son of Westerner could well go one spot better on this occasion given what he had shown at the Wicklow course.

However, his biggest danger looks to be General Ryan who also finished second at the same venue on his latest start, when returning from a lay-off.

Race 3 - Glanbia 5yo Mares Maiden

In gruelling conditions, TREES VALLEY finished second to Arvicta at Tallow on her latest start. The seven-year-old daughter of Mahler was beaten six lengths on that occasion, and should be capable of going one spot better here for the in-form Liam Burke yard. Lady KK, Timeaday, and Getapresent all look the most obvious dangers on paper.

Race 4 - Coolmore Stud Winner Of Two

Finishing third on her most recent start at Boulta, Patrick Fitzgeralds daughter of Acambaro, CHAMPAGNE BEAUTY showed that she can be competitive in winner-of-two company on that occasion, and a repeat of that effort should see her make the frame once again this time around.

Shuil Luas and Makeshift look to be her biggest dangers, and any market moves for either of them could be noteworthy.

Race 5 - Coolagown Stud & West Waterford Hunt Open

LITE DUTIES has been a model of consistency since joining open company this season. The Sam Curling-trained son of Mountain High finished second to Staker Wallace in a ladies open at Nenagh on his latest effort, just denying the admirable 11-year-old a hat trick of wins.

There should be no reason why he could not regain the winning thread. Reigning Supreme, Sammantom and BL Swagger look to be his biggest dangers.

Race 6 - Hornibrooks Garage & Jerry O'Keeffe Sawmills 5yo Unplaced Maiden

COASTAL CAPERS improved from his Ballindenisk debut on his latest effort at Tallow, where he was beaten just 14 lengths in what were very tough conditions.

Another similar effort could well see him getting involved this time around for the Sean Aherne team. Brooklyn Balance and Blowing Away are likely to be the biggest dangers in an open looking race.
