CARLOW FARMERS (F) at Borris 1st March 2020

First Race: 12.00pm
Number of entries: 156
Admission: €10
Preview: Ask The Boss Lady bids to record back-to-back victories.

The Carlow Farmers point-to-point is located on the grounds of Borris House. This Irish estate is also a popular wedding venue set amongst the picturesque Blackstairs mountains.

The racetrack is located close to the parade ring, bookies, final fence and finish line ensuring good accessibility for an enjoyable family day out.

We caught up with the Chairman of the point-to-point, Brian Rice, to ask him how preparations were going for Sunday.

“The preparations have been going fantastic and there is an excellent cover of grass on the track. The Turf Club inspection is set to take place tomorrow (Friday). We received an entry of 156, which we were delighted with.

“There will be a chip van onsite along with a coffee van. We will also have a hospitality tent for landowners and sponsors which will have soup and sandwiches and refreshments.

“This year we will host a stable staff race which will be on after racing. There are 29 entries for the race, so we will divide it into two races. It will be great fun on the day and hopefully it will attract a good crowd.”
