Weekend Preview | Tinahely 23rd February 2020

Race 1 - Gaelic Plant Hire 4yo Maiden

Colin Bowe sent out Linelee King to win this race last year, and having saddled no fewer than three winners in the age group last weekend alone, he could be the man to follow with five potential runners. The market will give the best guide as to what is expected of the newcomers.

Race 2 - Specialist Cars & Hunters Anon Syndicate & Ballyorney Veterinary Clinic 5yo Geldings Maiden

HERE WE HAVE IT has been forced to settle for the runners-up spot in two of his last three starts, including a narrow defeat at Mainstown before Christmas, which means he is sure be in the shake up.

Macs Charm only found a more experienced rival too good on his debut in testing conditions at Knockmullen House and is entitled to have improved for the run, with the regularly placed pairing of Sunset West and Tommys Oscar, alongside Straight Swap, others that would have to feature on the short list.

Race 3 - John Durkan Memorial Open- Novice Riders

EDDIES MIRACLE has taken all before him in the open division this season and remains unbeaten for the campaign following victories at Portrush, Borris House and Tyrella most recently. Whilst he was a beaten odds-on favourite around here in the past, he would still look the one to beat on his form from this season, having previously got the better of his stable companion Horendus Hulabaloo.

All Hell Let Loose has a bit to prove on his two runs this season, but was a smart performer last year, which may leave the evergreen Better B Quick as the more solid alternative. He won around here in October and has been incredibly consistent this season.

Race 4 - John R Fitzpatrick Agricultural Contractor 5yo+ Mares Maiden

HONEST OPINION tried to make all of the running in testing conditions at Knockmullen House earlier this month and was only beaten by five lengths on what was her first run in 11 months. That looked a decent race, and having been entitled to have needed the outing, she might be the one to side with here.

Lawlors Choice has proven herself around here having gone close at the venue last month and may prove to be better than her 12 lengths defeat at the hands of Awesome Lady at Cragmore last Saturday, whilst is another that could have place claims, having made the frame here in the past.

Race 5 - Fitzpatrick Gallagher McEvoy Solicitors Winner Of Two

ON THE SOD will look to preserve an unbeaten record here following two opening successes, including what was a notable defeat of Samurai Cracker, a horse that has since enjoyed success on the track, winning the Hunter Chase at Limerick over Christmas.

Beatthebullet and Ballymorris Rose finished first and second at Ballycrystal last month in significantly less testing conditions, which may leave Fill The Tank as the big threat as he ran well at Bellharbour earlier in the month.

Race 6 - Kent Carty Solicitors & Frank and Martin ODonnell 6yo+ Geldings Maiden

THE NEW KID has been knocking on the door for some time and this could be his best chance yet to get his head in front. Big Bold Gold ran respectably on his debut and is entitled to improve, whilst the newcomers may be able to play a part in this and are worth a market check.
