Weekend Preview | Boulta 24th November

Race 1 - Beeches Stud and Winners Enclosure, Conna 4yo Mares Maiden

TIMEADAY offered some promise on her debut in a competitive looking maiden at Knockinroe, and that may well be the strongest single piece of form that is on offer here. Of the others, High Charlie made the frame at Stowlin, but disappointed badly on her return at Toomebridge. She may be worth a second chance, whilst the market will give a good guide as to what is expected from the newcomers.

Race 2 - Tattersalls Ireland 4yo Geldings Maiden

RIDE THE STORM came up against two more experienced types when he made his debut earlier this month and was the first of the newcomers to finish. That initial effort should leave him as one of the leading contenders for this. The Colin Bowe pairing of Getmegold and Erne River both also made the frame on their debuts. The latter caught the eye when coming from off the pace to finish third at Tinahely just last Sunday, whilst the Dare To Begin, Small Bad Bob and Ocean Drifter are others for the shortlist.

Race 3 - Kelkab Ltd & Dungans Daybreak, Tallow 5&6yo Geldings Maiden

MILANFORD
took a big step forward when returning from an 11-month absence at Knockmullen House earlier this month. That could leave him primed to take this. Ask D Man went close at Ballynoe in the spring but failed to follow that up on his return, whilst Champions Hill is a horse that has plenty of experience to draw upon. In a race like this, the newcomers could be worth a market check.

Race 4 - Kenneally Steel Open

Former Cheltenham Festival winner Black Hercules has to defy a long absence and so it may be worth siding with a more recent winner, such as MIGHTY STOWAWAY who have a very good account of himself when prevailing at Kinsale. Arctic Skipper won a similar race around here 11 months ago and has to be respected having made a winning re-appearance at Dromahane, whilst the Sam Curling pair of Longhouse Music and Wounded Warrior are others that could feature in this.

Race 5 - Goffs and Glenview Stud Winner Of One

Both CROSSING LINES and Steelers Appeal returned wide-margin winners at Lisronagh a fortnight ago, but preference is given to the former, who easily brushed aside quite a competitive field to make a winning debut. He holds numerous entries however, and is not guaranteed to run here. If not, Aloneamongmillions would certainly enter the reckoning having been well-supported in the market prior to his winning debut at Ballyragget, whilst Moore Clouds won a four-year-old maiden at Durrow and will be benefitting from her age and mares allowance.

Race 6 - Dave Allen Engineering & McDonnell Bros 5yo Mares Maiden

ROSY STORY put in a career best when making her return to action at Kinsale earlier in the month when chasing home Style It Out. That should not leave her far away here. Donnas Dream was cheaply bought at the sales last month and could make her stable debut here with five placed efforts over hurdles and a mark of 94 over those smaller obstacles, which would certainly bring her into the reckoning, whilst Awseome Lady, Trick N Trump and Kalamansi Cooler are others to consider.
