Weekend Preview | Knockinroe 27th October

Race 1: Barnane Stud 4yo Mares Maiden

OVERNIGHT SUCCESS
, a half-brother to Samcro, who won his point-to-point for the same connections, was unsurprisingly sent off as the favourite for her debut at Bartlemy where she finished a respectable fourth. That experience should stand to her.

Stablemate Thequeenbee was also a beaten favourite on her debut, whilst Gettysburgh brings placed form to the table.

Race 2: Kenneally Family, Ballyheen 4yo Geldings Maiden

The French bred POUR UNE RAISON came up against the subsequent big price seller The Big Breakaway when he made his debut at Quakerstown in the spring. Far from disgraced on that occasion, he would look to have the pick of the form.

Smurphy Enki was placed on his latest outing, whilst Tommys Oscar could be set for a quick reappearance as he finished fifth just last Sunday at Tinahely.

Race 3: Young Oil Ltd, Templemore 5yo Mares Maiden

IMMORTALITY is a full sister to star mare Laurina that was unsurprisingly sent off as a short priced favourite ahead of her debut at Belclare in the spring. Running keenly on that occasions, she ultimately pulled up but could be expected to give a better account of herself in an open looking race.

Stable companion Active Currencies has finished a respectable fifth on both of her outings to date, whilst Bailehuiguincailin was not beaten far at either Lisronagh or Loughrea last season, and enters this with big claims.

Race 4: Councillor Noel Coonan & JH Roche & Sons 5yo Geldings Maiden

ASHTOWN LAD was not cheaply bought as a three-year-old and he arguably put in his best effort on his third and most recent outing, when a fine second at Monksgrange in April. The horse that beat him home at the Wexford course has already franked the form when he won at Chepstow earlier this month, and so he is the clear horse to beat.

Whitechurch made a very encouraging debut last Saturday in Portrush, whilst Soviet Style showed improvement when third at Oldcastle.

Race 5: Stapletons Bakery Mares Winner Of Two

ROSFOYLE returned at her leisure in Belclare last spring when winning by a comprehensive 15 lengths and would seem to be the one to side with here. Cool Dove also has a wide margin success to her name, however she disappointed at Monksgrange subsequently when making a bad mistake, and must bounce back.

Stable mate Ballymorris Rose would likely have finished second at Tinahely last Sunday but for falling at the last, and is another with chances.

Race 6: Fitzpatricks Lounge, Clonmore 6yo+ Maiden

HONEST TO GOODNESS has finished in the money on more than half of her outings in point-to-point fields, and with 13 placed efforts to her name, she would be most deserving of a maiden victory. Spivey Cove, Laffan Jim and Mahler Of Autumn are others that enter the equation in what is a very open race.
