Twelve apiece for Longhouse Music and Kruzhlinin

The leading pair in the closely contested Champion Pointer title were out in force once again last weekend. Both Longhouse Music and Kruzhlinin recorded success bringing their respective tallies to an unprecedented 12 winners for the season.

The Gordon Elliot-trained and Camilla Sharples-owned Kruzhlinin was the first of the pair to hit the 12 winner mark. The victory came in the ladies open at Stradbally in the hands of Lisa O'Neill.

Running out a comprehensive ten-length winner, the Sam Curling-trained runner up, Sound Money, was no match for the Sholokhov gelding here.

Kruzhlinin's lead didn't last long however, Longhouse Music reclaimed her joined leader position just a couple of hours later  when she secured victory at Tralee in the open novice riders with Eoin Mahon on board for Sam Curling who also enjoyed a double on the day.

The daughter of Gamut lead from three out to run out a convincing eight-length winner over Do Be Doin' for John Cummins.

Both horses held an entry in the open contest at Inchydoney the following day but despite having easy races neither managed to make the quick turnaround to run within 24 hours as they had done in the past.

With just one weekend of pointing left, the Champion Pointer title will go right down to the wire at the Ballingarry and Kinsale fixtures on the June bank holiday weekend.
