The Grade 1 OLBG Mares Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival was first introduced in 2008 has attracted a strong entry of 30 mares six of which include former Irish Point-to-Pointers.

This is a race which has eluded Irish Pointers to date but they hold their strongest entry to date in what looks to be a very open contest.

The seven-year-old daughter of Al Namix won her point-to-point maiden at Aghabullogue for Wexford handler Paul Pierce.

The Paul Nicholls trained If You Say Run is another amongst the line-up, this daughter of Mahler has won on four occasions under rules since winning her point-to-point maiden at Ballinaboola for Ashleigh Murphy.

Mega Yeats who has impressed since embarking on her career under rules having won on two of her three starts to date for trainer Ruth Jefferson.

This five-year-old daughter of Yeats only won her point-to-point maiden in April of last year at Monksgrange whilst under the tutelage of Donnchadh Doyle.

Dual listed winner Mias Storm is also among the entries, she is in fine form at present having won on both of her recent starts for trainer Alan King.
