Sandmason enjoyed a successful Cheltenham Festival having sired his first winner at the festival with the Grade one winner Summerville Boy in the Sky Bet Supreme novices´ hurdle on the opening day.
The six-year-old won a bumper at Killarney last May when in the care of Sam Curling and was subsequently sold for £130,000 to Roger Brookhouse at the Goffs UK May sale.
Now trained by Tom George, Summerville Boy was runner-up on his hurdle debut before finishing second to Slate House in a Grade two hurdle at Cheltenham in November.
This eye-catching gelding took his first Grade one in January when he beat Kalashnikov by four lengths at Sandown in the Tolworth Hurdle.
Sandmason also sired the Grade one Ballymore novice hurdle runner-up, Black Op who ran a huge race behind Samcro to finish just two and three quarter lengths in second.
A winner at Loughanmore two years ago for Rodney Arthur, the now seven-year-old also carriers the colours of Roger Brookhouse who purchased the gelding for £210,000 after his point-to-point success. Black Op had also finished second to Santini at Cheltenham in January in a Grade two hurdle.
Sandmason is a Group two winning son of Grand Lodge who held a time form rating of 121 and is out of the Group three winning mare Sandy Island.
