The course at Ballycahane made an immediate impact on the point-to-point scene with its first race meeting producing the biggest price for a point-to-point mare when Patrick Turley`s My Whirlwind, who won the opening race at the inaugural 2019 fixture, was subsequently sold for 400,000 pounds at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival sale.
A largely flat course that is run left-handed, the runners begin alongside the final fence and shortly arrive at the top bend out of the home straight, as they straighten up to the opening fence before heading through a gap and turning once again into the back straight.
There are a total of two fences along the back, the first of which is almost directly in line with the winning post, before the field race through a gap and jump the third which is followed by some gentle undulations at the end of the back straight.
After swinging around the home bend, the runners quickly arrive at fence four, the first of two in the home straight, with a short run-in following the second of these which is jumped three times in all.
