Onthefrontfoot ran a cracker when second at Loughrea at the beginning of May on what was effectively his first run, having unseated his rider at the second fence on his debut, just one week prior. Onthefrontfoot was running a big race when left in front when the leader was carried out by a loose horse rounding the bottom bend. While he could not match the winners pace in the home straight, the pair finished some way clear of the other finishers, in a race that produced the quickest time of the day, 14 seconds faster than the day’s average. Having posted such a strong run, this gelding lost little in defeat and is a very likeable youngster with a lot to offer.
