Lock's Corner

Lock’s Corner (IRE)

4yo, Bay, Geld, Gold Well (GB) – Last Century (IRE) (Glacial Storm (USA))

Lock’s Corner posted a high class display on his debut run when he took the second division of the four-year-old maiden at Dawstown. The Barry O’Neill-ridden winner was ridden close to the pace throughout and progressed to lead before the third last fence where he soon held a strong advantage over the final two obstacles and injected a burst of speed to win by a comfortable 12 lengths at the finish. It is unsurprising that he posted the quickest time of the day which was 11 faster than the day’s average. A half-brother to the three-time track winner, Steele’s Rock, the Colin Bowe-trained gelding is also from the family of Graded performers which includes Shantou Bob and Definite Ruby. Lock’s Corner proved himself to be something special and combined with his mix of both speed and stamina he displayed on his debut, he looks to have the potential to develop into a high class horse on the track.
