Following three starts in point-to-points last spring, Baron De Midleton stepped up notably on his fourth start at Ballindenisk in December to win by one and a half lengths over his closet rival. This progressive gelding was ridden patiently throughout before being produced to lead after the penultimate fence where he battled gamely to hold off the fast finishing Coole Well. He travelled well throughout and handled the soft ground conditions admirably while also producing the fastest time of the day which was nine seconds above the average of the day. He is out of a half-sister to the consistent Dantes King and is also from the family of the high class performers Marlborough, Galeogan and Tullymurry Tuff and given his progression over the summer, Baron De Midleton looks an exciting addition to the sale.
