Davy Street (GB)
5yo, B, Geld, Grape Tree Road (GB) – Miner Yours (GB) (Miner’s Lamp (GB))
Davy Street took the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Kirkistown in November on what was his second start between the flags. The Denis Murphy-trained winner had one previous run where he stayed-on with plenty of purpose in the home straight to finish third at Tinahely. Ridden patiently throughout, Davy Street produced a strong challenge at the penultimate fence where he battled gamely in the closing stages and went on to win with two and a half lengths over his runner-up. A half-brother to Miner Distraction, who won his bumper on his track debut, Davy Street showed a likeable attitude and looks like a horse that could be a real money spinner for his new connections.
