Mallow native Alan O’Sullivan is a son of William O’Sullivan and brother to former champion novice rider Michael O’Sullivan. Alan had his first ride in Irish Point-to-Points on the opening day of the 2020-21 season at Ballingarry aboard A Decent Excuse, trained by uncle Eugene O’Sullivan, and it was Eugene's It Came To Pass that supplied him with his opening success when taking an open at Dromahane in April 2022.
