Tattersalls Cheltenham April Sale 2024

The initial 23 entries for the Tattersalls Cheltenham April Sale on Thursday, 25 April are now available online and include 11-winning and placed four-year-olds.

Further wildcard entries will be accepted following this weekend's racing.

Graded race success for Tattersalls Cheltenham April Sale graduates

The Tattersalls Cheltenham April Sale’s leading 2024 graduates include this season’s Grade 2 winners American Mike, victorious in the Ten Up Novices Chase, Ash Tree Meadow, winner of the Webster Cup, and Brewin’upastorm, successful in the Grade Rathbarry & Glenview Hurdle (G2) at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting.
 
American Mike and Ash Tree Meadow, who both hold Grade 1 entries at the upcoming Punchestown meeting, were sold at the 2021 April Sale for £195,000 and £135,000 under Sean Doyle’s and Donnchadh Doyle’s respective Monbeg Stables banners.
 
At the same sale this year’s impressive Cheltenham Festival Grade 3 Ultima Chase winner Chianti Classico was purchased by Aiden Murphy and trainer Kim Bailey from Milestone Stables for £105,000.
 
At the Tattersalls Cheltenham April Sale 2022, Search For Glory, winner of this season’s Mercedes-Benz Novice Hurdle (G3), was sold by Fenloe House to Gordon Elliott for £200,000. Owned by Gigginstown House Stud, the seven-year-old son of Fame And Glory is also a Grade 1 entrant at Punchestown.
 
The recent Aintree meeting saw excellent performances from Tattersalls Jockey Club Sales graduates with Grade 1 victory in the Bowl Chase for the Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up Gerri Colombe and Grade 3 Topham Challenge Chase success for Arizona Cardinal, trained by Stuart Edmunds.
