Point-to-Point shortlisted for An Post Irish Book Awards

Point-to-Point – The Heart of Irish Horse Racing, the work of Richard Pugh and Healy Racing, has been shortlisted for the 2022 An Post Irish Book Awards as revealed at a ceremony at Dublin’s GPO on Thursday evening.

The An Post Irish Book Awards celebrate the best of Irish writing each year and the Point-to-Point title features among six nominees in the Eason Sports Book of the Year in association with Ireland AM category, an award won last year by the autobiography of Ireland rugby international Keith Earls.

Point-to-Point – The Heart of Irish Horse Racing, introduces the riders, handlers, venues and famous horses that give Irish point-to-pointing such a unique spirit.

The true grassroots of Irish horse racing, point-to-point tracks are transformed from farmland by dedicated volunteers into temporary racetracks and this book, which was only launched at the beginning of October, tells the story of how the sport has developed through to today.

Everyone is now being asked to cast their vote which can be done through the An Post Irish Book Awards website www.anpostirishbookawards.ie. For instructions, please click here.

All voters will be entered into a prize draw to win one of five €100 National Book Token vouchers. Voting closes on November 10th.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday, 23rd November at a ceremony in the Convention Centre in Dublin, with highlights of the awards being broadcast on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Wednesday December 7th.

Point-to-Point – The Heart of Irish Horse Racing is available from all good bookshops nationwide and online book retailers.
